more character, less waste

The client, a private winemaker in Jamestown, Rhode Island, asked that the design for his first set of labels reflect both his midcentury modern taste and an artisanal, handmade feel. To solve the design problem with minimal waste, we created a clean, two-color design with letterpress printing. The labels were printed by hand at an Atlanta letterpress studio with Gans Soy Plus ink, made with soy and nut oil, which contains less than 1 percent VOC. The 100 percent cotton paper label was applied to the bottles with nontoxic adhesive.
