Recycling styrofoam
Every new computer and piece of electronics in your home or office probably comes packaged in expanded polystyrene (EPS), the lightweight white material often referred to as styrofoam. And because EPS pieces are molded for a specific purpose, they are not useful after you have unpacked your new laptop or monitor and often end up in the landfill.
While retailers like Mailboxes Etc and The UPS Store accept the smaller styrofoam peanuts, they do not accept the larger EPS pieces. At Citizen Studio we collect EPS and take it to Polymer Sciences Inc, which, according to the company's web site, has a "total resource solutions from Grinding and Shredding to Densification and Pelletizing of plastic materials for purchase, sale or reuse."
Polymer Sciences is located at 5800 Wheaton Blvd., SW, Atlanta, GA (just off Fulton Industrial Blvd.). You can reach them by phone at (404) 346-0696.
